How Hard Do You Want It To Be?

Week one of my 12 week challenge is complete! Whew! I found some very interesting things in my thinking and eating habits. On the Body for Life eating plan you eat 6 small meals a day. The first few days it was really hard for me to remember to eat a mid-morning snack! I’d find all kinds of excuses not to be in the present moment when my body was signaling that I was hungry (after I answer this email…ooh, that’s an interesting link, let’s click on that…oh! Someone is texting me again, better answer immediately…is it already time for a client session?…) and  I’d go into blame!

I blamed my circumstances as my reason for not honoring my body when it was time to eat.

I’ve learned that the way you do one thing is the way you do everything, and it proved true even regarding eating. I then found myself wanting to tell my husband how HARD it was to remember to eat. Really? Like I don’t have a choice in how difficult it is to stop for two minutes to drink a protein shake?

How many ways do we hand off our power throughout the day without even recognizing it? And then we wonder why we feel so powerless all the time!

So, I have decided that it’s easy to remember to eat every 3 hours, and it’s easy to stick to the plan, and it’s easy to make this a lifestyle change instead of a “diet.”

Lasting change is an inside job-you have to shift internally before outside circumstances will shift and hold. And that shift is literally a decision away.
