The Amazing World of What If…

I am a follower of Joe Vitale, an expert on Law of Attraction. If you want to check him out, he’s at mrfire.com. I recommend you get on his newsletter list, and sign up for his free e-book The Miracles Manual. He talks about a bunch of different techniques for attracting what you want in life, and releasing limiting beliefs and patterns. One of his suggestions is to play a game called “What if up?”
Most of us–even me, a while back–tend to worst case scenario our dreams, and more often than not, talk ourselves out of taking that leap of trust and bringing them to us. Joe calls this “what if down.” It sounds like: what if it all falls apart? What if it doesn’t work? What if I look stupid? What if I do it wrong? What if I spend all our money, we lose our house, are financially destitute and end up living on the street? (That last one was one of my personal favorites I regularly pulled out and tried on.) And with thoughts like that, no wonder the vast majority of people stay doing the things they can’t stand! Following our dreams is risky. What if I lose everything? What if I try it and it’s worse than what I feel now? After all, if what you’re feeling right now isn’t comfortable, at least it’s familiar, right?
Joe teaches that rather than imagining the worst, imagine the best! What if this works? What if I make more money than I ever have? What if it’s fun? What if I meet incredible people? What if this changes my entire family tree?
Our thoughts take us to the highest highs and the lowest lows. You’ve lived in the energy of what if down for a long time. You know where that keeps you. Try something new and see where that takes you! It’s time for different results. And different results require different actions. What if everything you lose is nothing you need anyway? What then?
