Hey Prosperity Seeker,
Are you ready to talk about money today? But to really talk with a person who knows how money works? Because we have an absolute expert in our episode today. She is a Financial Life Coach, Speaker, and Certified Financial Planner™ professional.
You may think that she is like one of those financial experts who are always deadly serious and open their mouth only to tell us that our situation is even worse than we think… But no! My today’s guest is Kayla Walter, one of the most positive people I have ever met.
Her love for numbers is her gift, and she learned how to use it to build her happiness and help others achieve their dreams. In addition to her love for numbers, Kayla has a natural superpower for organization and planning.
This conversation will be one of those we don’t often have. But when you match financial literacy with biblical and faith principles, you become absolutely unstoppable.
Tune in for this episode as Kayla shares why it’s so important for women of faith to be financially literate and how growing your faith will literally grow your money.
Let’s dive right in!
Who is Kayla?
As her biography shows, from the beginning of her career, she knew what she was meant to do.
After graduating with a Masters’s degree in finance, she accepted a position at a financial planning firm outside of Washington, D.C., where she gained the knowledge necessary to help educate those she felt needed access to financial information the most.
Although she was able to work with those that had amassed a great amount of wealth, she noticed that there wasn’t a lot being done to educate those who didn’t come from wealth and therefore didn’t know how to create it.
Using the knowledge and experience she gained at the firm, combined with biblical wisdom and financial principles, Kayla now focuses on helping believers match their abundance of faith with the weight of their wallets by teaching them how to better manage and increase their income so they can:
- give generously
- work prosperously
- live abundantly
She does this by giving her clients strategies to save, pay down debt, and begin investing while educating them on how to utilize their existing resources and introducing them to resources they didn’t know they were entitled to use.
They Never Taught Us About Money
One thing about money is very interesting – we have missed lessons about financial illiteracy like for eons of years. And that aspect of life is equally important as all others because God set it up that way. However, many of those things have somehow bypassed us.
No one ever taught us or talked to us about money outside of giving your offering and tithe. But when it comes to how investments work or what you should be doing with your money – we haven’t had a clue for a long time. And a lot of us still don’t.
The Bible tells us there’s gonna come a day when people of faith will be coming under persecution. We know that – it’s already happening. And everybody wants to help. But, carwashes, chicken dinners, selling brownies, and stuff like that won’t be the way to get there.
Kayla is sure that the way to get there is by utilizing the gifts and talents that God has already put inside of you naturally, being of service, and spreading that with the world. That is how you can increase your income and also be in a position to help when help is needed.
And obviously, the time to help is already here. And you don’t have to be very smart to come to a conclusion and ask a simple question – how can you give service and bless others if you don’t already have the money?
And if you think a bit more – we were taught that giving is better than receiving, but no one ever told us that it’s a bad thing to receive. However, we understood that somehow and became terrible receivers. (Although women are built to receive – we are natural receivers).
Money Isn’t a Miracle
So, we have managed to act against our nature by developing guilt when we spend money to improve ourselves because we’ll hurt our families that way. Do you realize how weird this way of thinking is?
We have also been taught to vilify people with money because they have it. But money isn’t a curse. People who have it are people with a vision of what they want to create.
And anyone in business will tell you the same thing – when you go forth in business, it is going to be the greatest stretch of your faith in your life because it becomes bigger than you in every aspect – investing, investing in yourself, doing things that seem crazy but you’re feeling led to it.
And having faith means taking that step. I’m pretty sure Jeff Bezos didn’t know what Amazon would become when he started it as a bookstore. But he just kept going with it.
And when you truly believe in something, God rewards your effort. Kayla believes that money is an indication of that. Because those people trusted in times when others were maybe telling them that something is too risky, or costs too much, or that something is never gonna work…
They decided to step out in faith and do it.
And money is the reward.
Money isn’t a miracle. It’s a result of stepping out on and doing what you feel led to do.
