How often do we ask ourselves about what God wants for us? We like to focus on the will of God and set aside what our hearts really hope for. We spend our lives dreaming of so many things but a paralyzing question lurks behind them all the time: Is this God’s will or is this my own will? Let’s find out together!
It’s important to be sure about how we feel about our plans and desires. The sad part is that so many of us also think that pursuing the things that we love can be a selfish act. Do we really need to suppress the things we want to do in order to live up to God’s will?
Join me in this engaging topic about real growth, living our best lives, and getting a better grip on what God really wants for us.
Growing Doesn’t Have to Be Painful
Joe Dispenza once said: “You can grow through suffering and pain, or you can grow through joy and inspiration.” Although we are all meant to grow all the time, we miss the fact that we have a choice to either grow in pain or grow in joy and success.
In the middle of my financial breakdown years ago, I was stuck in the habit of over-analyzing. Here’s the thing: I thought that the struggle was the growth. I started to look at things differently and I realized that the bad days were not helping me grow. Actually, the struggle was the very opposite of growth.
It’s Okay to Have Desires!
We all have dreams and desires, but not all us choose to follow them. Isn’t it interesting how one person spends all day dreaming about sailboats and yachts while another might dream of buying his first scooter? We all have different desires and they are all OK to have!
Even better, did you know that the desires in your heart are placed there by divinity? God is with you in your desires and He wants you to have it all. We tend to forget that God wants us to be happy, not miserable, aloof, and always yearning.
Our Best Lives Are In Our Hands
Don’t wait for your best life to come. What better way can we live the best life than by choosing and following what makes us happy?
The best part of this is that when you choose to go for your desires and be happy, you unconsciously radiate this positivity that is contagious to others. When people see that you are living your best life, you bless them by persuading them to do the same.
Trust Your Heart All the Time
Those heavenly nudges we talked about in the last topic was all about knowing if a certain sign was from God or not.
This means we are on a mission to follow our hearts because our dreams and desires are all given to us God. He wants us to grow in the path of our dreams and He definitely wants us to be happy while we grow.
Is It Wrong to Have Materialistic Desires?
Absolutely not! We all want different things in different ways. You are supposed to be pulled by whatever your heart desires for just as others should be pulled by their hearts’ desires. Nobody has to be wrong. The things we want are different.
Even if the things you want seem too materialistic, there’s no reason to hold back from it as long as it’s important to you. Anything that we appreciate and value are things that God wants us to have!
Warning: God’s Hints Can Be Very Subtle
Sometimes God gives us big signs, but sometimes they can be subtle. But they’re still signs, right?
The downside is that God cannot steer the wheel for you if you don’t step on the gear and run. This is not His nature and it’s important to know God’s real character. Decide to move forward and see where it goes so God can have the chance to give you those precious hints.
Bottom Line
Remember that free will is very important to God. Although He loves us enough to give those heavenly nudges, He also loves us too much to decide for us all the time. He wants us to experience the ride, but He also wants us to have the right mindset. This is where the five-way litmus test comes in handy.
Some of us may choose the wrong path at some point and that’s okay. The good news is that God won’t let you go too far off on a wrong decision and your own intuition will pound you to turn the other way. So trust where your heart is leading you. As you do that, it will become clearer that you are not only fulfilling God’s will, but also your own.
