Here’s a quick exercise to strengthen your abundance muscles.
I listened to a really cool interview that Carol Tuttle did a little while back, about abundance and prosperity. In the interview she talked about the words “I can’t afford it.” She said back in the 1990s she realized that she and her husband were creating an abundance of “I can’t afford it” because that’s what they were focusing on. (They had $45,000 in credit card debt with no income.)
So, they made a commitment to never say those words again, to themselves or to their kids, no matter what they asked for. They taught their kids that if they were to say no to something, they’d never use “we can’t afford it” as a reason again.
Then she said something so profound I had to pause the interview to let it sink in. She said when kids ask for something, you can just say, “No.” You don’t have the put the story “we can’t afford it” on it.
Just leave it at the no! Brilliant!! If you have to put a story on it, you can follow it up with, “we’re not spending our money on that right now.”
This is a fabulous way to exercise your abundance muscles. Because the actual truth of the matter is that you are literally surrounded by abundance. To continually declare that you can’t afford something isn’t accurate. It’s a condition you’re creating by declaring that.
We create with our thoughts, words and actions. Be very aware of what you’re creating, and commit to never saying “I can’t afford it” again. Start working out that abundance muscle today.
this comes at a perfect time for me.
I’m so glad that it came across your path. I’m excited for you to start practicing strengthening your abundance muscle and seeing your creations!!
