From Louise Hay: It is important to remember that the point of power is always in the present moment.
I still wake up with a pang of anxiety most days. I still have to ask my children to repeat questions because I check out mentally halfway through our conversation.
But that pang of anxiety now just feels like a small drop in my stomach, like when you trip and catch your balance. It used to feel like I was about to be attacked.
All. Day. Long.
I’ve learned after feeling this anxiety on a fairly regular basis to just let it be there. When I fought it or ignored it, or even tried to beat it out of me, it just got stronger. But when I accept it and even send it love, it only stays for a few seconds and then leaves. It takes practice to stay present with it.
I’m getting better at staying present with my kids, because miracles happen in the now, not in the future. When my mind wanders, I gently lead it back to the conversation. It takes practice. The point of power is in the now.
As I’ve continued to practice how to be a little less critical and gently lead myself back to the present instead of whip and berate myself like I used to, I find that I love being in the moment! There is so much joy, so many miracles to make in the now. And sometimes, the miracle is simply that we’re fully connected to what’s right in front of us. It just takes practice!
Practice being gentle with yourself as you bring yourself back to the present moment, just for today. You will find, like I did, more power there than anywhere else you can wander.
Allyson, that is very true. It is now what matters. We as human beings must learn to be in the present. It is hard work to stay in the now and it is also so much happiness in this moment. Past we learned from and future will go its way. Blessings
Thank you for reading pietere! Mental work is the hardest work we’ll ever do. Spot on! Choose to stay in the now! Many miracles to you.
