What to do when the journey just isn't worth it?

Many of you know my story of the struggle I had with losing my brother almost 4 years ago, feeling abandoned by God, and facing the blackest darkness of my life.

You also know that the darkness ultimately led to where I am today– experiencing more light, abundance and joy than I ever have in my entire life!

When I was going through that blackness, I remember telling people I didn’t think it was worth it.

I hurt too badly.

I felt that God knew my situation and just didn’t care.

I couldn’t imagine it getting better. Ever.

But now, on the other side of it, let me assure you that every second of it was worth it!

I didn’t handle that part of the journey very well; I freely own that.

In fact, I made the experience a lot harder than it really needed to be.

I want your journey through fear and struggle to be faster, smoother and more graceful and than mine, so here are some tips:

Three Simple Things I Wish I’d Known
to Move Through My Crap Faster

1.Find the “pinpricks of light” when your sky looks like nothing but black.

What tiny things are there to be grateful for? Find them and express out loud what they are (even if it’s to no one but you). This can be feeling grateful for a green light, a close parking space, a blue sky, a meal you didn’t have to cook. Think simple!

2. Look for signs that you ARE being watched over by God, and He DOES send you the help you need.

Quite often He sends a friend, or a song really resonates with you, or a saying just catches your eye. (Those things happened to me and at the time I’d WISH it meant my angels and God were sending me comfort. In fact, that’s exactly what was happening. They were.)

3. Find peace in the moment.

If that means something as simple as listening to a song that lights you up, or spending time in nature, taking a walk, reading a great book, do it! And if you can only find peace for two minutes at a time, start there. That’s okay.

Most of the time we look for giant, complicated techniques to pull us up and out of the darkness immediately. We overlook the small and simple because, well, they’re small and simple!

But when you focus on the small and simple, it will inevitably make your pit stops shorter and less painful. It will open you up to greater peace and joy. More light!

And really, isn’t that really what you’re after here, anyway?

If you’d like some deeper, customized help to get you through the darkness and into the light faster, then just schedule some 1:1 time with me. It’s free, and I know you’ll leave lighter than when you came.
